This screen is not the medical record.

Nothing was printed. Fast Track EMR does not print its own screens, and this page is all that came out.

A printed screen looks like a record and is not one. On a patient’s chart the visit notes print only while they are open on screen — so a chart printed with them closed gives a page carrying the patient’s name, their visit dates and their diagnoses, and none of the clinical text. It would be filed, or handed over, as though it were the record.

What does print

Each of these has its own Print button, and each opens its own sheet on clinic letterhead:

  • Prescription — Print on the prescription card, or Print all for a whole visit. One prescription per sheet; sign every one.
  • Referral — Print beside Referral in the visit’s documents.
  • Work / school note — Print beside Work / school note in the same place.
  • Visit note — Print copy on the note in the patient’s chart. Open the note, then Print copy. That is the sheet to send for a records request, a patient asking at the desk, or an attorney’s letter.

The visit note is a copy of the record, so it comes from the chart

Use Print copy on the note itself — never this page, and never the browser’s print on the chart. The copy carries clinic letterhead, the patient, the note ID, the provider’s electronic signature and everything appended after signing; a printed screen carries none of that and reads as a record anyway. Printing a copy is recorded in the audit log, which is how the clinic can later say which version of a note went out.

An unsigned note can be copied too, and every page of it says it is an unsigned draft. If anything about a request is unusual, it still goes to the practice manager.

Fast Track EMR. This page holds no patient information, and printing it recorded nothing.
